Time your visit to the mountain's two big harvests. In spring (March to mid-April), see Damask roses picked at dawn and distilled into rosewater in traditional clay ovens. From August, the pomegranate harvest fills the terraces. Rose and pomegranate harvest baskets, packed in natural wicker, make a good gift to take home.
